It started in the summer

Paula had been so excited about her visit to the swimming pool. But now it threatened to literally fall through. Shaved legs and sensitive skin are not a good combination, and no one wants razor bumps in the summer. Her boyfriend, Peter, with whom Paula had arranged to meet at the pool, was already wondering where Paula was.

But Paula didn't have good news. She had shaved her legs that morning and was now complaining of red dots and razor bumps on her skin. She couldn't show up like that. She had tried everything. But none of the creams or lotions Paula had tested could relieve her skin irritation.

Peter, disappointed that he would have to forgo a visit to the pool on this beautiful summer day, asked her if there was anything that could be done about this unpleasant side effect of hair removal. It was hard to believe that the cosmetics market didn't offer a suitable after-shave product for women. He decided to look into the matter.

How we came into being

Although many people shave their underarms and intimate areas daily, for a long time there were no suitable products for aftercare after hair removal. Failure to treat the sensitive skin after shaving can result in redness, razor bumps, skin irritation, and sometimes even rashes. Our goal was to develop a unique product that soothes the skin, prevents irritation, and at the same time leaves it feeling clean and refreshed.

"It was astonishing. When you enter a drugstore or perfumery, you're offered a wide range of aftershaves, which you can hardly escape. But the days when only men picked up razors are long gone. Whether underarms, on the legs, or in the bikini area: many women shave or epilate regularly, especially in the summer. But a suitable aftercare product wasn't available. So I decided to take this project into my own hands and research a solution for razor bumps."

Dr. Severin is committed to developing high-quality, meticulously tested products. For years, our products have offered women and men alike a seamless hair removal experience, both during and afterward.

Building on this experience, we decided to expand our product range. This led us to create additional products related to hair removal. We also developed other beauty products that impress with their uncompromising effectiveness and quality.

How we work

With Dr. Severin, we wanted to establish a company that would always offer its customers the best possible product and service.

To achieve this goal, we rely on a great team, a stimulating work atmosphere, and a pleasant working environment. To promote social interaction in the workplace, we use innovative concepts like "Never Eat Alone." We also believe that the strict 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. approach requires improvement, so we've launched an experiment: Every employee at Dr. Severin works whenever they want and for as long as they feel productive. Everyone makes their own decisions.
